Birdhouse Skateboards, founded by skateboarding legend Tony Hawk, has been a major player in the skateboarding world for decades. Known for its bold designs and strong connection to skate culture, Birdhouse has built a reputation for producing high-performance boards that resonate with both professional skaters and enthusiasts. The brand’s unique blend of innovation and style has made it a favorite in the skate community, symbolizing the freedom and rebellious spirit of skateboarding. 
For this project, I had the opportunity to design a series of skateboards for Birdhouse, capturing the brand’s essence while infusing my creative touch. The goal was to create designs that blended style and functionality, producing boards that skaters could not only use but also feel a personal connection to.
Key elements of the design included:
1. Custom illustrations that reflected Birdhouse’s dynamic, rebellious energy and unique aesthetic.
2. A mix of bold colors and graphic elements that captured the essence of skate culture while maintaining a balance between creativity and usability.
I spent time researching Birdhouse’s iconic visual style and skateboarding roots to ensure my designs resonated with their loyal community. Drawing from their energetic, daring vibe, I created illustrations that reflected both the boldness of the brand and the artistry behind skateboarding. This project allowed me to showcase my illustration skills while balancing artistic expression with product design.
I used Illustrator to craft each board’s design, focusing on creating graphics that were visually striking and aligned with Birdhouse’s identity. Overall, it was a fun and challenging project that allowed me to engage with skate culture on a deeper level and produce something that skaters could take pride in.
